Meet Danielle
Danielle Penman has proudly called St. Charles home for the past 24 years. Together with her husband of 28 years, a union tradesman, she raised two sons in the community they love and continue to serve.
With nearly three decades of experience in healthcare, including more than 25 years as a labor and delivery nurse, Danielle has helped deliver thousands of babies while guiding women and families through some of life's most joyful and difficult moments. Throughout her career, she has advocated for patients, families, and fellow healthcare professionals, working to improve care delivery, strengthen support systems, and achieve better outcomes. She also co-chairs a hospital council dedicated to improving care after pregnancy loss and infant death and teaches Stop the Bleed, helping equip others with lifesaving emergency skills.
Danielle's commitment to public service extends beyond healthcare. She has been actively involved in her local schools through her sons' elementary PTO, the Boosters Club, and the St. Charles Education Foundation. When a local school official broke the rules, Danielle successfully pushed for an independent ethics review, because she believes public officials should be accountable to the people they serve. She has also volunteered as a camp nurse for the JDDC Girl Scouts and supports organizations including Kayla's Hope, Jane's Room Foundation, Baby Spirit Foundation, Together at Peace, the Salvation Army Food Bank, and Lazarus House.
As a nurse, Danielle has seen firsthand how rising insurance premiums, prescription drug prices, and healthcare costs strain working families. More importantly, her career has taught her the importance of listening, solving problems, and bringing people together to get results. She believes good ideas are not Republican or Democrat, and she'll work with anyone willing to lower costs, protect access to quality healthcare, and strengthen the communities families call home. Danielle offers the perspective of someone who has spent her career caring for patients.
Danielle is running for State Senate to bring common sense, compassion, and accountability to Springfield while making Illinois more affordable, strengthening local communities, and delivering results for the families of the 33rd District.
